Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu

In the MMORPG Cross Reverie, Takuma Sakamoto is so powerful that other players acclaim him as the "Demonic Lord". One day Takuma is invoked to another world, but with the aspect that he has in the game, there he will know two girls who say to be those who have invoked him and they execute a ritual to turn him into their slave. At that moment a passive skill of Takuma called "Exchange" is activated that makes the spell reverse and the two girls become his slaves and not the other way around. It's ok that Takuma is the most powerful spell in the game and now in this world, but something he is not very skilled at is dealing with other people. His decision to solve the situation? to behave as if he were his MMORPG character!.

Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu

Released in the recent summer season of 2018, Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu, which would translate into something like "The Demon King from Another World and the Slave Summoner Girls", is the anime adaptation of the series of novels of the same name written by Yukiya Murasaki and illustrated by Takahiro Tsurusaki, published since 2014. The series is a production of Ajia-Do Studios under the direction of Yuuta Murano, which came to have a total of 12 episodes.

An Isekai anime set in a world with characteristics of harem and ecchi style MMORPG that is starred by a super-powerful teenager, is usually a mixture that does not give very good results, and this title is not exactly the exception, telling the story of a hikimori who after being transported by accident to the world of his favorite video game by a couple of girls with quite common personality, and who will quickly become his fellow travelers and "slaves" (the latter very much in quotes), he will live different adventures, most of them caused by his lack of ability to function naturally socially without automatically entering into his character of "Devil, the demon king of another world", having basically a tsundere who on one hand loves to show off his power while on the other hand curses himself for the nonsense he says.

The series is developed under a quite usual format for these light novel adaptations, taking advantage of its 12 chapters to present us with a good handful of quite predictable developmental mini-frames most of the time, dedicated to make us know the main character and his skills, as well as to deepen his relationship with the girls who accompany him, and with which, for one reason or another, he will end up constantly involved in misunderstandings and situations of a suggestive nature, not missing the opportunity to introduce the girls to situations that leave them with little or no clothes, or to make them throw themselves at our hero who will almost always be left frozen and not knowing how to act.

Being objective the series has nothing that has not been seen before in some other title of this style: a super powerful protagonist, a harem of girls with an archetypal personality and good looks, laughable villains, etc., but inside everything I could not classify the anime as boring, and that is because although the situations presented do not differ much from those already seen many times in other similar works, in the end the particular way of being of the protagonist is what ends up saving it, Diablo has a certain level of charisma, which, even though it doesn't make him a memorable character, at least it makes him fun to watch on screen, which is enough to make the play bearable at least, not to mention that the fan service, although incredibly brazen at times, is sometimes so exaggerated that it is simply laughable.

Visually speaking, the work is not bad, the animation is not anything out of this world but it defends itself in a very good way, the character designs are generic and forgettable but quite attractive, and the background work is competent, likewise the soundtrack does not stand out at all but it fulfills its function of setting, while the opening and ending themes are too forgettable.

A series that I sincerely do not think is worth recommending, being that you will not miss anything by not seeing it, resulting in a tremendously generic and forgettable work, but which achieves enough merits to at least entertain during its visualization.
