Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism

The private Aichi Symbiosis Academy was originally created as an institute for upper-class girls, but when it changed to a co-educational school, young women afraid of men were allowed to carry weapons for their self-defense, leading to the formation of an elite group of vigilantes known as The Five Supreme Swords, who have since run the school.

As generations passed, the five swords eventually became a group dedicated to correcting troubled students, which is why the school began to welcome thugs from other schools in order to rectify their behavior.

After being involved in a major altercation that led to his expulsion from his high school, Nomura Fudou is transferred to the Aichi Academy, where he will have to face the five swords who have set out to correct him and force him, as they have done with all the other men who have entered the school before him, to set aside his manhood and dress and act like a girl.

Released on April 5 of the 2017 spring season, Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism, or as it is also known, "Armed Girl's Machiavellism", is the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Yuya Kurokami and Karuna Kanzaki, which has been published since 2014. The anime is a production of the Silver Link studios under the direction of Hideki Tachibana, made up of a total of 12 episodes.

The anime is a shounen focused on the action of school setting, with elements of martial arts and harem, which is presented with a somewhat ridiculous premise but within what fits striking, which ends in a story not precisely elaborated that at the end only serves as a mere excuse to unleash the fights between our protagonist and the different members of the five swords, young people who after being defeated did not take long to make friends with the young man, thus arriving little by little to conform these a sort of harem around the boy.

Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism

This is a fairly simple and predictable anime in its development, and in general without many pretensions, which from the very beginning is clear that it only seeks to offer some good action scenes and a few moments of high tone between the protagonist and the girls, giving way to quite comical and unimaginative situations that we have already seen in other anime, as well as some simply ridiculous moment but that manage to attract attention, such as certain naked confrontation in the middle of a women's bathroom, or the reasons behind the action that would come to be the last rival of the protagonist.

So we are facing a job that although it did not take any prize and which in the end is quite simple, is in turn a title that can be quite entertaining and perfect to kill some hours of boredom, provided you see without expecting too much and with the brain off, and is that Machiavellianism despite the inconsequential that is, manages to deliver a very good fight and action scenes, and a group of characters that although they are easy to forget and not very elaborate are all pleasant.

Visually speaking the title is competent, the animation is no wonder but it defends itself well, the character designs are mostly attractive, with a moe cut aesthetic for the girls, who at least in the case of the main ones present an aspect that makes them quite different from each other, While on the men's side, except for the main character, they all look a little ridiculous, which goes hand in hand with the fact that they are transvestites, the backgrounds are not bad, but as is common in these school series, they do not provide much variety or detail.

Finally, with respect to the soundtrack, there is not much to say, being the typical case of a series with an OST that is not very prominent or notorious, in spite of this, its opening title "Shocking Blue", interpreted by Miku Itou, is not bad at all, and in fact, I personally liked it a lot, while its ending name "DECIDE" and sung by the seiyus of the five swords, is in general not very striking.

A title that is not at all surprising but that, as I said before, is not bad for killing a few hours of boredom, being a simple and unpretentious work that is entertaining.
